Highlighting a number of good practices related to enhancing cooperation between countries of origin and diaspora communities and to raising awareness of human rights among prospective migrants, he said that countries of origin and destination should share responsibility for shaping and implementing a human rights-based approach to migration governance and that the role of national human rights institutions in the protection of migrants’ human rights should be strengthened.
