(e) To strengthen capacity-building and training, especially in human rightsbased approaches, gender equality-based approaches, civic engagement in public policies, integrated approaches towards the issues of women and sustainable development and peace, as well as in terms of ethics, communications and networking skills

UNICEF works with national and local media to get basic but effective messages out.

The Chair indicated that the intention of the South African delegation, working with other members of the Council and other partners within and outside the United Nations, was to make a concrete and constructive contribution to the quest for sustainable peace and security in Africa, through the activities of the Working Group.

UNIFEM works in partnership with governments, civil society, and United Nations organizations to strengthen women’s economic security and rights, end violence against women, reduce the prevalence of HIV and AIDS among girls and women, and advance gender justice in democratic governance, including in conflict and post-conflict countries.

In response to paragraph 21 (f), activities in 2011 to develop national strategies for the application of a low-carbon green growth development path included: (a) the development of a framework of policy options, whereas the draft road map was presented at a policy forum in the Republic of Korea; (b) the development of guidelines for eco-efficient and socially inclusive infrastructure, jointly with the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UNHabitat), which were launched at the 3rd Asia-Pacific Mayors’ Forum.

To this end, UNICEF works with a wide range of stakeholders from governments, national and international non-governmental organizations, United Nations agencies, community and local organizations and individual families.

In that context, the Secretary-General urged the region’s leaders and partners at all levels to work together in support of the two networks which could empower all segments of society and help people take the future into their own hands.

(b) Regional level: UN-Women will support Regional Directors’ teams and the regional coordination mechanisms of the regional commissions to engage more systematically in mobilizing technical expertise for United Nations country teams to assess capacity gaps and join together to support national partners to improve the knowledge and evidence base on gender equality.

Special Day Class teachers work collaboratively with general education classroom teachers and the IEP team to plan services and provide classroom instruction.

The goals and objectives of the organization are to: serve as a central clearing house for the exchange of information and experience; aid countries to establish central recreation service agencies upon request; promote the development of a world recreation movement in order to enrich the human spirit through wholesome use of leisure; encourage the use of resources to train leaders and develop recreation and leisure for all ages; provide a medium through which recreation authorities may work in unity; and work with the United Nations and other affiliated organizations to ensure that everyone has a right to leisure and the opportunity to choose.

The meeting strongly welcomed the advances in results-based programming which should, nonetheless, be further strengthened and refined with a view to achieving a better balance between qualitative and quantitative indicators, complementarity with the expected outcomes of the Medium-Term Strategy and coherence between expected outcomes, expected results, as well as monitoring instruments and reporting standards.

The Conference urged member countries, FAO, development partners, non-governmental organizations, civil society and the private sector to collaborate in integrating climate change adaptation and mitigation considerations into agriculture and development planning and implementation.

5.32 Subject to the results of the public consultations, the SFC will work with the Administration to put in place the necessary legislative amendments to implement the proposal.

We should unite our efforts, in partnership with international organizations, civil society and the private sector, in order to put an end to the heinous crime that shames all of us.

One such example is Agilent Technologies, a world-leading measurement organisation collaborating with UTS Science to produce a world first bio-imaging facility, which developed technologies into imagingtechniques that have assisted clinical diagnosis and allowed investigation of effect of drugs on a range of diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. This relationship has had significant benefits for both partners.
