In its resolution 63/240, entitled “Towards an arms trade treaty: establishing common international standards for the import, export and transfer of conventional arms”, the General Assembly decided to establish an open-ended working group that would meet for up to six one-week sessions starting in 2009 in order to facilitate further consideration on the implementation of the relevant recommendation contained in paragraph 27 of the report of the Group of Governmental Experts to examine the feasibility, scope and draft parameters for a comprehensive, legally binding instrument establishing common international standards for the import, export and transfer of conventional arms (see A/63/334), on a step-by-step basis among all States Members of the United Nations, in an open and transparent manner.

Direct negotiations between companies and indigenous peoples may be the most efficient and desirable way of arriving at agreed-upon arrangements for the extraction of natural resources within or near indigenous territories that are fully respectful of indigenous peoples’ rights, and they may provide indigenous peoples with opportunities to pursue their own development priorities.

Following further consultations with stakeholders in Iraq, the representative of UNIDO said that in principle, Iraq did not object to using hydrocarbon as the replacing refrigerant, subject to ensuring that: the technology was technically feasible in terms of the availability of components and raw materials for such products; the final product price was comparable to HFC-134a products; safety considerations were fulfilled within the project, covering both manufacturing and servicing aspects; the performance of hydrocarbon-based products was similar to that of HFC-134a products, keeping in mind that the temperature in Baghdad could easily reach 50 degrees Celsius in the summertime; and information was provided on similar experience with projects funded by the Multilateral Fund for shifting commercial refrigeration to hydrocarbon technology.

(B) The manner, timing and terms of any sale of shares pursuant to this Bye-law (including but not limited to the price or prices at which the same is made) shall be such as the Board determines, based upon advice from such bankers, brokers or other persons as the Board considers appropriate consulted by it for the purposes, to be reasonably practicable having regard to all the circumstances including the number of shares to be disposed of and the requirement that the disposal be made without delay; and the Board shall not be liable to any person for any of the consequences of reliance on such advice.

The Hong Kong Commission did not have the resources available to conduct its own feasibility study but we consider it sensible to await the results of the extensive field studies now being carried out in England before any decision is made in Hong Kong to proceed with independent local research, at least insofar as the taping of the police interview is concerned.

It shall encourage the international governmental and non-governmental financial entities, as well as Member States of UNESCO, to provide financial and technical assistance and to propose applicable projects to the Regional Centre, and shall facilitate contacts with other international organizations relevant to the functions of the Regional Centre.

ZHU Xiaokun, ZHU Zhihe, WU Suojun and LEE Cheuk Yin, Dannis did not hold any directorship in any other listed public companies in the last three years and does not hold any position in any member of the Group, nor does each of them have any relationship with any other Directors, senior management, substantial shareholders or controlling shareholders of the Company or any interests in the shares of the Company within the meaning of Part XV of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap. 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong).

The continuing Directors or a sole continuing Director may act notwithstanding any vacancy in the Board but, if and so long as the number of Directors is reduced below the minimum number fixed by or in accordance with these Bye-laws, the continuing Directors or Director, notwithstanding that the number of Directors is below the number fixed by or in accordance with these Bye-laws as the quorum or that there is only one continuing Director, may act for the purpose of filling vacancies in the Board or of summoning general meetings of the Company but not for any other purpose.

The Delegation of India, referring to its written comment presented in CAC/31 LIM/9, stated that the selection of cultivars to achieve a reduced sugar content level of less than 0.3 % in raw potatoes was not always feasible and that strict control of storage temperature and time was not always possible, particularly in developing countries.

Costa Rica is ready to contribute to the adoption of a draft resolution that urgently calls for an immediate cessation of the hostilities, the establishment of an effective and lasting truce and the opening of all border crossings with controls and guarantees accepted and respected by all, so as to allow a return to the path of negotiations that will ultimately lead to the establishment of a viable and democratic Palestinian State, living side by side with Israel and jointly promoting the well-being and development that their peoples deserve and desire.
