Marine science and its supporting technologies, through improving knowledge and applying it to management and decision-making, canmake a major contribution to eliminating poverty; ensuring food security; supporting human economic activity; conserving the world’s marine environment; helping to predict, mitigate the effects of and respond to natural events and disasters; and generally promoting the use of the oceans and their resources for the objective of sustainable development (see A/56/121, para. 3).

The free flow of information and knowledge can be further strengthened by promoting multilingualism and diversified local content.

Section II, title X, article 328 of the Family Code states: “When the health, safety, morality or education of a minor are jeopardized or insufficiently protected owing to the immoral behaviour or disability of the father and mother or of the person accorded the right of guardianship, or when, owing to misconduct or unruly behaviour, a minor gives these individuals cause for very serious dissatisfaction or renders them incapable of exercising guidance, the juvenile judge may on his own initiative, at the behest of the public prosecutor or at the behest of the father, mother or guardian, rule that the minor shall, for a period not to extend beyond the date of his coming of age, be visited regularly by a social worker or placed on probation.

(b) If thought expedient any such division maybe otherwise than in accordance with the legal rights of the contributories and in particular any class may be given preferential or special rights or may be excluded altogether or in part; but in case any division otherwise than in accordance with the legal rights of the contributories shall be determined on any contributory who would be prejudiced thereby shall have a right to dissent and ancillary rights as if such determination were a Special Resolution passed pursuant to Section 237 of the Ordinance.

These matters include the questions whether: (a) the grantor has to be the same person as the borrower; (b) the security agreement secures all the relevant obligations; (c) the security right is subject to any legal restrictions; (d) there must be a clear payment schedule in the credit; (e) there are any special rights or obligations (such as rights of way or rights of access to a site); (f) there are any special obligations for the preservation of encumbered assets; (g) there are any obligations not to transfer the encumbered asset or create another security right in it; (h) ways in which the grantor and other interested parties could be notified in the case of default and enforcement; (i) there should be a reference to extrajudicial enforcement; and (j) there should be a dispute resolution clause.

This licence permits us to provide television broadcast and telecommunications uplink services to our satellites and to provide backup services for our customers.

These include: a deep-sea port being constructed on the Indian Ocean near the Rakhine State capital of Sittwe, and parallel road, high-speed rail, and oil and natural gas pipelines that will create an energy and trade corridor to China’s landlocked south west; the Kaladan multi-modal project that will create a transportation corridor between the Indian Ocean and India’s eastern seaboard and its landlocked north east; and the Dawei Development Project which, if completed according to plan, would include a large industrial estate and modern deep-sea port in the south, with road and rail links for transhipment of goods to Thailand and on to Vietnam, cutting several days off the sea route through the Straits of Malacca.

Some of the elements ofavision for a lowcarbon transport system could include: (a) dense, but green, and mixed-use cities that provide jobs, and shopping and leisure facilities close to people’s residential areas; (b) modern, high-quality links between the centres and good integration of long-distance hubs with local transportation; (c) high-quality alternatives to individual car use, in particular efficient public transport and good non-motorized transport infrastructure and its proper integration; (d) efficient, intermodal freight transport and smart urban logistics that also include clean vehicles; and (e) advanced technologies such as hybrid engines, alternative fuels or even electric motorbikes and cars.

Some delegations highlighted the importance of convening Codex sessions in developing countries as this allowed the co-hosting country to gain more experience with Codex work, and could also facilitate attendance of the countries in the region concerned, and therefore this mechanism should be used on a regular basis.

However, other actions could also be taken to strengthen the phase-out achieved, such as the adoption of environment-friendly production practices, new incentives to reduce the price of imported alternatives and the correct identification of the specific pests or diseases affecting crops.

Recognizing that all States Parties have a role to play, the Conference stresses that those States Parties seeking to build their capacity should identify their specific needs and requirements and seek partnerships with others, and that those States Parties, in a position to do so, should provide assistance and support.

The following priority areas/themes were mentioned for consideration in preparing document 35 C/5: freedom of expression and freedom of the press; increased emphasis on ethics, also in relation with action line 10 of the Geneva Plan of Action of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS); cultural diversity “of the media” and “in the media”; the promotion of multilingualism; media and a culture of peace; the role of knowledge in societal development; the role of ICTs in building knowledge societies, an area in which the Information for All Programme (IFAP) could play an active role; and support for regulators in Africa.

The view was expressed that satellite operators would welcome information on space weather hazards and conjunction risks on a daily basis and that expert groups B and C should consider means by which satellite operators could access space weather information and exchange orbital parameters to allow the most accurate risk analysis possible to be performed.

(4) Subject to any provision to the contrary in these Bye-laws the Members may, at any general meeting convened and held inaccordance with these Bye-laws, by ordinary resolution remove a Director at any time before the expiration of his period of office notwithstanding anything in these Bye-laws or in any agreement between the Company and such Director (but without prejudice to any claim for damages under any such agreement) provided that the notice of any such meeting convened for the purpose of removing a Director shall contain a statement of the intention so to do and be served on such Director fourteen (14) days before the meeting and at such meeting such Director shall be entitled to be heard on the motion for his removal.
