We also underscore that Tunisia will continue its efforts to bring to a successful conclusion all peace efforts and initiatives in order to once and for all resolve all aspects of the Arab-Israeli conflict and to establish lasting peace, stability and security in the region.

Time is of the essence and we Guineans must assume our responsibilities, turn the page once and for all and set our country on the path to sustainable peace and stability.

(d) If it is true that our fixation on the four main items on our agenda prevents us from achieving our goals of international security and disarmament, why not request the General Assembly to convene, once and for all, its fourth special session devoted to disarmament in order to review the whole machinery, as many States have suggested?

If the international community fails to contain the effect of the crisis and to address its roots once and for all, the world will face unimaginable and immeasurable consequences.

We are thus compelled to bring to your attention some of the serious developments in the recent period, and to underscore once again the need for urgent action by the international community, in line with international law and responsibilities, to address the occupying Power’s egregious violations and to once and for all take the necessary measures to bring an end to these violations and to act in unison and with urgency to advance the realization of a peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine.

However, the conflict persists, and we have not achieved the objective that would make it possible to resolve the conflict once and for all, that is, the creation of a sovereign and independent Palestinian State that is politically and economically viable and living in peace side by side with Israel within secure and internationally recognized borders.

Serbia stands ready to engage in a dialogue that would settle all the outstanding issues once and for all in a peaceful manner, and Serbia asks for the support of this Council and of the United Nations in this peaceful approach.

We support all international efforts in finding a lasting and permanent solution.

At the Committee’s 166th session, the representative of the Secretariat, after having informed the Committee that the flexibility that it had earlier recommended in regard to delegations with rental arrears was no longer effective, invited it to adopt sufficiently stringent measures in order to resolve, once and for all, the recurrent problem of rental arrears.

The General Assembly should take measures to achieve a permanent solution to the problem, which was hindering the Committee’s work.

For many years, all the measures taken and suggestions and efforts made by the Secretariat, in cooperation with the Headquarters Committee, as well as numerous letters of reminder regularly sent to the Delegations concerned, have failed to produce a favourable and definitive resolution of the problem.

In that respect, I would like to end my statement by emphasizing that global peace can be maintained only if it is understood once and for all that the logic of interventionism and hegemony can never be the basis for a new world order in which true justice for all, free of double standards or double morals, prevails.

Yesterday, the Haitian Government convened an important meeting with MINUSTAH, seeking cooperation in putting an end to this issue once and for all.

We all know that the Council has at its disposal the mechanisms necessary to demand that Israel change its policies and practices once and for all, that it be held accountable for its actions and that it implement the resolutions of the Organization.

Our main goal is to ensure that present and future progress allows us to consolidate efforts to ensure stability and peace so that Haiti can overcome the situation described by President Martelly once and for all and so that the country can take off politically and socio-economically.

In addressing the issue of Congolese judicial reform, I am pleased to recall that, in its resolve to once and for all end impunity for serious crimes committed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and in implementation of the relevant recommendations of the United Nations mapping report of October 2010, the Government has taken the initiative to set up special mixed chambers within the Congolese legal system.

We ask for the support of all United Nations Member States in solving this problem once and for all.

We must once and for all move away from supply-driven cooperation and focus on finding the right way to support partners without stifling ownership.

Furthermore, the Ethiopian regime ratchets these trumped-up charges to goad the Council into taking punitive measures against Eritrea and warns that “it will [otherwise] be obliged to take whatever action is necessary to stop the activities of the Eritrean regime once and for all”.

This vision is of an end to ad hoc solutions and the introduction of a sustainable system, once and for all.

And Israelis must be able to believe that they have a partner on the other side that is interested in solving the conflict once and for all in a way that will provide security.

The international community should shoulder its responsibility by compelling Israel to cease immediately and once and for all of those violations aimed at imposing faits accomplis, which have been rejected and threaten the chances for peace.

It is for the good of all — Serbia, as well as Kosovo and all other countries in the region — that the borders of the Balkans have been fixed once and for all.

Due to the economic situation in which the RS finds itself, the international community’s support for efforts to ensure these persons’ access to their secured rights in their states of origin, so that they can use their own resources and rights in the process of return, as well as in securing lasting solutions to their problems, is of great importance.

Through that 12-month re-extension, which we support, we reaffirm our trust in the activities of the Special Representative and our common desire to see an Afghanistan that is democratic, independent, stable and prosperous and has rejected violence and instability once and for all.

Rich countries must, as a matter of urgency, show the necessary political will to bring about a lasting reversal in the situation; that depended essentially on the development of alternative sustainable economic models grounded in a new international economic order.

We consider that meeting to be another opportunity to assess the current threat posed by terrorism and to lay out a forwardlooking approach for our future actions to eradicate this scourge once and for all.

For this reason, the international community must no longer judge Israel on what it says, but rather by the actions it takes, and hold it fully responsible, should it sabotage the opportunity before us to secure peace once and for all.
