Pursuant to paragraphs 91 and 93 of annex IV to Council resolution 5/1 providing for the mandate of members to the Working Group on Communications to be of three years and renewable only once, at its 8th meeting, on 12 August, the Advisory Committee decided by consensus to appoint Mr. Bengoa Cabello, Mr. Chen, Mr. Heinz, Mr. Kartashkin and Ms. Warzazi as member of the Working Group on Communications to serve until the end of their term as members of the Advisory Committee.

Five treaty-monitoring bodies have established procedures to examine communications from individuals claiming to be victims of a violation, by a State Party, of one of the rights listed in the treaty concerned.
