Law 7/2008 also defines the duties of the employer in article 9, establishing among others the duty to respect the employee and to treat him/her with dignity, to provide good working conditions and to compensation in case of work-related accidents or disease.

His delegation supported the establishment of the proposed emergency preparedness and support unit and looked forward to the Secretary-General’s report on other requirements associated with provision of assistance and support to staff members, including assistance related to education for dependent children and travel for families of the deceased and survivors to memorial ceremonies and funerals and to places of evacuation.
