As a result of this experience, Reading for All is being integrated into the Ghana Education Plan, the International Association for Reading is cooperating with the United Republic of Tanzania and Uganda is organizing the Third Pan-African Conference on Reading for All to provide yet another platform for advocacy and capacity-building to advance reading in the African region.

Consequently, the total number of credentials received was 161, of which 107 were received in due course and 54 were received on the understanding that formal credentials would be communicated to the Secretariat as soon as possible.

Communications and information, example of an achievement: Concerning the processes undertaken by the sectors in assembling the data and information which were submitted as their contributions for the completion of the C/3 report, the CI Sector indicated that information pertaining to various training events, seminars, book launches, etc., were already being collected on an ongoing basis, under the banner of “news events” reported from CI staff in field offices, and uploaded onto “Web World”, the CI portal.

Its recommendation was made on the understanding that any regular budget funds appropriated for the Special Court would be refunded to the United Nations at the time of the Court’s liquidation; that no additional subventions for the Special Court were expected; and that the United Nations Secretariat, the Management Committee, the Registrar and other senior officials of the Special Court would intensify their efforts to fund the Court’s activities through voluntary contributions.

The legal recognition which confers civil capacity on unions is subject only to the formal requirement of registration by the registrar of unions for those unions coming under the Labour Code, and approval by the Minister of Regional Administration and Decentralization for civil service unions, sole restriction applicable to the police, armed forces and judiciary.
