In order to realize this connection it is important to understand what employers expect from graduate degree recipients as well as what the workforce will likely require in the future.

Under operational costs, the reduction of $405,400 in resource requirements is attributable to: (a) the cancellation of engineering projects under facilities and infrastructure, such as the construction of a new entrance at the Mission’s headquarters compound in Pristina; (b) restrictions in official travel, in particular for training and participation in conferences, purchasing tickets at least two weeks in advance and requesting United Nations agencies to participate in facilitation meetings on behalf of UNMIK in countries where United Nations agencies are present; (c) postponement of the planned outsourcing contract for heavy vehicles repair and maintenance under ground transportation; (d) lower actual expenditure related to training consultants and lower cost of travel for the consultants on the Human Rights Advisory Panel; and (e) reduced requirements for medical supplies (see A/66/777, para. 9).

In this context, it was suggested that both States Parties and the broader implementation community need to make sure that this actually happens, including moving beyond the general discussions of how to ensure that girls, boys, women and men have equal access to the resources generated through implementation of the Convention, and, by asking why progress has been so slow.

Thanks to those joint efforts, the elections were held without any major incidents attributable by the press.

It will focus on monitoring and evaluating the processes (e.g. approaches, focus, and teaching and learning styles adopted to implement ESD in different types, levels and settings of education) and learning (e.g. what has been learned by those receiving ESD as well as by those funding or facilitating learning opportunities).

The author considers that the present case is no different from other cases of enforced disappearance and that admissibility should not be considered separately from the merits.

(b) Although Eritrea is a multireligious society and a secular State wherein Christianity and Islam have coexisted in mutual harmony for over 1,300 years, the Bush Administration mendaciously labelled Eritrea in 2005 as “a country of concern for practicing religious persecution”.

Civicus - World Alliance For Citizen Participation welcomed new laws adopted on nongovernmental and non-profit organizations asking the Government to report publicly, accurately and comprehensively how these laws had been implemented and what had been done in relation to various recommendations to improve the protection of civil society space, namely to ensure freedom of expression, assembly, association and the right to participate in public and political life, to adopt a National Plans of Action to improve the human rights situation and to implement some of the recommendations of the Treaty Bodies on freedom of peaceful assembly, to investigate all reports of assaults on human rights defenders and bring to justice those responsible.

In Africa, this includes Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda and Zimbabwe; in Asia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kashmir, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar/ Burma, Nepal, North Korea, Pakistan, Phillipines, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan; in Europe, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Georgia, Kosovo, Serbia and Turkey; in the Middle East, the whole region from North Africa to Iran; and in Latin America, Colombia, the rest of the Andean region and Haiti.

The objectives of Tonga Offshore Mining’s plan of work are to: (a) determine the most efficient and environmentally acceptable method to process and recover nickel, cobalt, copper and manganese from the polymetallic nodules, and define in what form these metals would report in a final product for sale, as well as the related capital and operating costs; (b) decide upon the optimum method to recover the material to surface with the minimum of environmental disturbance, as well as the related capital and operating costs; and (c) define what grade of nickel, cobalt, copper and manganese is required in the polymetallic nodules for economic extraction, and determine through exploration what quantity and density of such material can be identified and delineated in the contract area.

The Marrakech task forces are voluntary initiatives led by Governments focusing on seven specific themes: (a) “Education for sustainable consumption”, (b) “Sustainable tourism”, (c) “Sustainable public procurement”, (d) “Sustainable products”, (e) “Sustainable buildings and construction”, (f) “Cooperation with Africa” and (g) “Sustainable lifestyles”.

In response to the question from a Member as to why some posts had been upgraded from P4 to P5 while others had not, the representative of UNEP explained that those decisions had been made in light of the increased responsibilities that had been assigned to certain positions, as well as the need to comply with UN staff rules and to stay within the CAP budget.

He said the international community should be asking what kind of new tools it needed to respond to these new realities.

While the hope expressed was that the Commission would make further progress on the topic during its sixty-second session, it was also suggested that discussions should take place within the Commission concerning the attitude to be taken to the topic under consideration, including the structure of the draft articles that were being elaborated, as well as the possible outcome of the Commission’s work.

Mr. Loulichki (Morocco) ( spoke in Arabic): Morocco voted in favour of draft resolution S/2012/538 because it was in line with the recent resolutions of the League of Arab States and our perception of the situation in Syria, which shows quite clearly that no mechanism adopted by the Council to address the crisis has had the hoped-for result and that the parties in Syria have not complied with the plan, including the complete cessation of violence, to which they committed themselves.

As to a search logic that would allow close matches to be retrieved, it was generally thought that, while modern search algorithms could be designed to limit the number of close matches, such design presented problems, such as the following: (a) not all closely matching notices would be retrieved, as it required addressing a complex question of defining “close matches” and resulted in legal uncertainty; (b) the list of closely matching notices could be long, a fact that might lead to additional searches and result in high fees for the user and administrative burden on the registry; (c) allowing search results to retrieve close matches might have a negative impact on what constituted a sufficient grantor identifier for a registration to be effective (see recommendation 58 of the Secured Transactions Guide).

On the other, although larger developing nations (for example, India) are making efforts to strengthen and upgrade their institutional capacities in this area, for many nations this is likely to be just as complex and difficult a task as establishing an IPR regime.

(b) The progress of the draft national mental health law and its provisions regarding the process by which an individual may be involuntarily hospitalized, and how an individual can challenge such a decision, as well as the time frame within which the central government intends to act on this draft law.
