At the 12th resumed meeting, the Commission agreed to the proposal of the Vice-Chair to waive rule 52 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Economic and Social Council and proceeded to act on the draft proposal entitled “Social dimensions of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development” which was submitted by the representative of Argentina (on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Group of 77 and China), on the basis of informal consultations, and circulated in an informal paper, in English only.
