Following a discussion, the Executive Committee decided to approve the pilot project for validation of methyl formate as a blowing agent in the manufacture of polyurethane foam (phase I) in Brazil at a total cost of US $401,500 plus agency support costs of US $30,113 for UNDP, noting that the project was consistent with decision 55/43(e) and that it had been designed to disseminate the results from the validation of methyl formate technology in rigid and integral skin polyurethane foam applications globally, and on the understanding that the project would be the final validation project for methyl formate in the manufacture of rigid and integral skin polyurethane foams, and that approval of the project was without prejudice to consideration of the future funding request for phase II of the project by the Executive Committee.

Five major themes of convergence between these three authors were identified during that first informal reflection process: (i) the place of pedagogy in their work, especially through education, experimentation and learning; (ii) nature, in the form of the desire for the search for a new covenant of solidarity between humanity and its environment; (iii) scientific and technological progress, enriched by dialogue with all forms of knowledge; (iv) human rights and democracy in response to colonialism, discrimination and political, economic, social and cultural exclusion; and, lastly (v) art and, in particular, poetry as a form of unique mediation between people and nature, and between individuals and their fellows.

Two of the 4 general temporary assistance positions, 1 P-4 and 1 P-3 Training Officers, and 1 P-4 continuing post, currently funded from the support account, design, deliver, upgrade, harmonize and evaluate three ongoing cross-cutting leadership programmes: the senior mission leaders’ programme, a two-week course, conducted twice annually at a host Member State, for 26 candidates from Member States, the Secretariat, the United Nations agencies, programmes and funds); the senior leaders’ programme, a compulsory orientation course for all mission personnel at the D-2 level and above, conducted twice annually in New York; and SMART, an intensive year-long programme involving distance learning and three week-long workshops for two groups of 40 candidates.

The concrete measures recommended by the Working Group include the adoption of specific legislation on non-discrimination; the development of a national campaign to promote multiculturalism and respect for the dignity of the Afro-Ecuadorian people; the adoption of measures to reduce the educational gap that exists between Afro-Ecuadorians and the wider population; the introduction of ethno-education for people of African descent; the strengthening of Afro-Ecuadorian civil society; measures to eliminate racism and discrimination in the media; further efforts to encourage participation of persons of African descent in public administration; the establishment of a centre for Afro-Ecuadorian studies; the further development of free legal aid services; the creation within the office of the Ombudsman of a sub-unit dedicated to issues related to people of African descent and the creation of special programmes to promote the education of women of African descent.

The Commission also endorsed in general the recommendations of the Committee on Trade and Investment as contained in the report of the Committee on its second session (E/ESCAP/68/6).

An asset’s recoverable amount is calculated as the higher of the asset’s or cash-generating unit’s value in use and its fair value less costs to sell, and is determined for an individual asset, unless the asset does not generate cash inflows that are largely independent of those from other assets or groups of assets, in which case the recoverable amount is determined for the cash-generating unit to which the asset belongs.

The term in excess of three years is beneficial to the Company because (i) any term shorter than the License Term and the Secondary Trademark License Term would increase the risks associated with, and lower the returns on, the Group’s investment in its brand building of the Philips Contributed Business; (ii) following Completion, the Group is expected to invest substantial management effort to broaden the Philips Contributed Business’ product range and market share, the benefits of which will extend beyond three years; and (iii) it is the intention of the Company to strengthen the Philips Contributed Business and the presence of the Philips Trademarks and the Secondary Trademark in the markets in which the Scope Products are sold.

Many Member States identified opportunities for furthering intersectoral cooperation in the following areas: multilingualism; ICTs for education, especially for teacher training; media education; production of diversified and culturally diversified local content; cultural heritage, in particular by strengthening the links between the Memory of the World Programme and the other cultural heritage activities under Major Programme IV; infoethics; and the use of ICTs in human rights and democracy education.

At the 1st meeting, on 11 April 2011, opening statements were made by the Executive Director of UNODC, by the representatives of Kenya (on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Group of African States) and Chile (on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States) and by the observers for Lebanon (on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Group of 77 and China), the Syrian Arab Republic (on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Group of Asian States) and Hungary (on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the European Union).

8.14 All decisions made by HKIRC in relation to whether the Chinese Domain Name is the meaningful subset of its Chinese company name, trade name or product name are in HKIRC‟s sole judgment and are not open to challenge, whether under Section 9 of these Pre Launch Priority Registration Period Rules or otherwise.

The new labelling requirements in prepackaged food products included declaring the presence of the eight most common allergy causing substances, labelling the functional class of food additive and its specific name or its identification number under the International Numbering System for Food Additives, and labelling of date format in a more flexible manner.

Thus, Israel joins the international community in its call for robust action against arms smuggling along the Syrian-Lebanese border, in accordance with the recommendations set out in the report of the Lebanon Independent Border Assessment Team II, transmitted by the Secretary-General in document S/2008/582.

Furthermore, as noted in paragraph 2 above, pursuant to General Assembly resolution 63/266, the Secretary-General has included in his report a projection of the total budget for special political missions for the biennium 2010–2011, which he estimates could amount to some $1,148,739,700, or $319,811,300 more than the provision for special political missions in the proposed programme budget for the biennium 2010–2011 (see A/64/349, para. 78 and annex III).

These included the social disparities between non-Maori and Maori; the status of the Treaty of Waitangi in domestic legislation; family violence; equality of opportunity; overrepresentation of Maori in the criminal justice system; and ratification of human rights treaties to which New Zealand was not party.

For Canada, those covered the terminal phase-out management plan for ODS in the refrigeration and air-conditioning sector in Saint Lucia and the terminal phase-out management plan for Annex A Group I substances in Uruguay; for Italy, the umbrella project for terminal phase-out of ODS in the solvent sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the phase-out of methyl bromide as a soil fumigant in Morocco, and the terminal CTC phase-out project in Serbia; and for Spain, the phase-out of methyl bromide in horticulture in Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.

Regarding clause 8(2)(c), the legal adviser to the Bills Committee has expressed concern that a person, who is not a party to the mediation but is a party to civil proceedings which is not related to the subject dispute in the mediation but has procession, custody or control of certain information contained in the mediation communication which is subject to discovery in the civil proceedings, may be able to disclose the mediation communication concerned.

Save as disclosed above, as at the Latest Practicable Date, none of the Directors or chief executive of the Company or their respective associates had any interests or short positions in the shares, underlying shares of equity derivative and debentures of the Company or any of its associated corporations (within the meaning of Part XV of the SFO) which would have to be notified to the Company and the Stock Exchange pursuant to Divisions 7 and 8 of Part XV of the SFO (including interests or short positions which they are taken or deemed to have under such provisions of the SFO), or which were required to be kept under Section 352 of the SFO, or as otherwise notified to the Company and the Stock Exchange pursuant to the minimum standards of dealing by the directors of listed issuers as referred to in Rule 5.46 of the GEM Listing Rules.

The objectives of the amendments were manifold: (a) to streamline certain rules and ensure that they better translated the letter and spirit of the relevant provisions of the statute; (b) to ensure that the amended rules were consistent with other relevant rules; (c) to encourage, to the extent possible, cooperation with the Tribunal on the part of States and organizations, as well as the use of sources of sensitive information; (d) to meet the operational needs of the ongoing investigation; and (e) to protect the confidentiality of information during the investigative stage in order to ensure the effective conduct of the investigation and the protection of all relevant persons.

(B) The Company may by ordinary resolution, before the issue of any new shares, make any provisions as to the issue and allotment of such shares including, but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, a provision that the new shares or any of them shall be offered in the first instance to all the holders for the time being of shares of any class in proportion to the number of the shares held by them respectively but in default of any such determination, such shares may be dealt with as if they formed part of the capital of the Company existing prior to the issue of the same.

For example, the text of the Final Document had significantly watered down the commitments for nuclear-weapon States to reduce the operational status of their arsenals and to cease the development and qualitative improvement of their nuclear weapons; it did not oblige the nuclear-weapon States to abolish the role of nuclear weapons in their military doctrines or to accept a legally binding instrument for the prohibition of nuclear weapons; it did not call for the withdrawal of nuclear weapons from the territories of non-nuclearweapon States; it did not include the specific timeline for the total elimination of nuclear weapons called for by the Group of Non-Aligned States parties to the Treaty; and, in particular, it failed to call upon Israel, the only obstacle to a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East, to cease the development of nuclear weapons and to accede to the Non-Proliferation Treaty without preconditions.

The State party should further develop and strengthen ongoing educational programmes to ensure that all officials, including judges and prosecutors, public inspectors of places of detention, law enforcement personnel, security officers, members of the Village Guards and prison and immigration officials, are fully aware of the provisions of the Convention, the absolute prohibition of torture and that they will be held liable for any actions in contravention of the Convention.

At the same meeting, speaking on behalf of the Rio Group, the representative of Chile: reiterated the Group’s support for the legitimate rights of Argentina in the sovereignty dispute with the United Kingdom; recalled its declaration and special communiqué on the exploration for fossil fuels on the continental shelf around the Islands, adopted by the Heads of State and Government of Latin America and the Caribbean gathered at the Unity Summit held in Mexico on 22 and 23 February 2010; rejected the military activities of the United Kingdom in the Islands, which ran counter to the region’s policy of seeking a solution to the dispute through peaceful means; and also recalled the declaration on that matter that had been adopted in Santiago in October 2010 (see A/C.4/66/SR.2).
