The Commission, recognizing that the provision of scientific advice undertaken by FAO and WHO was independent from Codex, yet indispensable in facilitating Codex standard-setting work, acknowledged the efforts made by FAO and WHO in providing scientific advice to Codex and encouraged both organizations to mobilize sufficient resources for the programmes on scientific advice to Codex.
