These action plans will be implemented in the field in the coming months in situations of concern where parties have been listed in my last report on children and armed conflict (A/64/742-S/2010/181) for the killing and maiming of children and/or for sexual violence against children.

It remains concerned, however, that discrimination against children born out of wedlock continues to exist, as does discrimination against single mothers owing to negative social attitudes, which has a negative impact on children as demonstrated, inter alia, by the high rate of abandonment and the existence of some cases of infanticide of children born out of wedlock.

In addition to the above-mentioned belligerents, annex I to the Secretary-General’s report lists under the heading “parties that recruit or use children, kill or maim children and/or commit rape and other forms of sexual violence against children in situations of armed conflict on the agenda of the Security Council, bearing in mind other violations and abuses committed against children”, the following rebel movements: JEM/Peace Wing, Movement of Popular Force for Rights and Democracy, SLA/Abu Ghasim, SLA/Free Will and SLA/Unity.

The UNICEF strategy for the protection of children covered all the recommendations contained in the study on violence against children (A/62/209), and UNICEF would work in close cooperation with the new Special Representative, as it was already doing with the Office of the High Commissioner for [...] [...]

Inspired by the saying of the Prophet Mohammed that “all people are as equal as the teeth of a comb”, Kuwait affirms the established principles of its foreign policy, which emphasizes the consolidation of international peace and security, the rejection of violence, non-interference in the internal affairs of other States, and respect for human rights.

Djibouti noted with satisfaction the establishment in April 2006 of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking. It noted that the State had signed a child protection agreement with UNICEF in 2005 as part of efforts to provide for the social and psychological rehabilitation, repatriation and local integration of child camel jockeys, asking what concrete measures had been taken to implement this programme.
