At the 10th meeting, on 16 October, the representative of the United States of America, on behalf of Afghanistan, Albania, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Haiti, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Palau, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America, introduced a draft resolution entitled “Compliance with non-proliferation, arms limitation and disarmament agreements and commitments” (A/C.1/63/L.32).

The Chair of the Sixth Committee invited Member States to pay particular attention to “issues such as their laws and practices in the domestic implementation and interpretation of international law, strengthening and improving coordination and coherence of technical assistance and capacity-building in this area, mechanisms and criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of such assistance, ways and means of advancing donor coherence, perspectives of recipient States etc.” (A/C.6/63/L.23).

In the preparation of the following year’s report on legal empowerment of the poor and eradication of poverty, draft resolution A/C.2/64/L.47 should be taken into considerationbecause the concept must be understood in a broader context, in both developed and developing countries, and the root causes of poverty must be part of the examination.

In order to provide full service for the high-level review, the Secretariat would seek to identify resources that could be redeployed from the provisions to be made under Section 2, General Assembly and Economic and Social Council affairs and conference management, and Section 28D, Office of Central Support Services, of the proposed programme budget for the biennium 2010-2011, despite the fact that the modalities contained in draft resolution A/C.2/64/L.46 exceeded those planned by the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management in its draft calendar of conferences and meetings for 2010-2011.

The following examples could be mentioned: (a) the extension of the effectiveness of a registration (renewal of a registration); (b) the deletion of a secured creditor where two or more secured creditors are identified in the registered notice; (c) the addition of a secured creditor; (d) the deletion of a grantor when two or more grantors are identified in the registered notice; (e) the addition of a grantor; (f) the deletion of encumbered assets; (g) the modification of the identifier of the grantor; (h) the modification of the identifier of the secured creditor; (i) the assignment of the secured obligation by the secured creditor; (j) the subordination by the secured creditor; (k) the subrogation of a secured creditor’s right; (l) the modification of the address of a grantor or secured creditor; and (m) the modification in the maximum monetary amount for which the security right may be enforced (if applicable).

The list of information to be included in the request for proposals has been amended: (a) the information listed in subparagraphs (d), (h), (l) and (o) has been deleted, as it was not relevant; (b) the remaining provisions have been amended to reflect the changes to the equivalent provisions regulating the contents of the solicitation documents in open tendering (see paragraph 9 above), and some related information has been grouped together for ease of reference; and (c) additional information has been included (in particular, regarding minimum responsiveness criteria, details of procedures, and (in request for proposals with dialogue) any elements that will not be the subject of dialogue and the minimum and maximum number of, and how to select, the suppliers or contractors to be invited to the dialogue).

Brazil has strongly supported the Register of Conventional Arms since its creation by resolution 46/36 L of 1991, and has regularly provided information on the Register’s seven categories.

In an innovative ruling, the High Court of Justice examined the issue of the fund allocation to sports institutions, and ruled that in order to redress long-standing inequality issues, local councils should allocate funds for women’s sports at 150% of that allocated to men’s sports (H.C.J 5325/01 L.C.N Association for the Advancement of Women Basketball v. Ramat-Hasharon Local Council).

Apart from considering the views expressed in each submission and whether in principle at least the author was for or against an OPS or did not indicate either way, we took careful note of such points as: (a) whether the submission was from an individual or a group; (b) whether it was an ordinary letter or a pre-printed form; (c) if in support of the OPS, whether such support was qualified or unqualified, and if the former, to what extent; and (d) if the submissions opposed the OPS, whether it did so in principle or in respect of individual recommendations in the paper.

At the 41st meeting, on 25 March 2009, the representative of Austria introduced draft resolution A/HRC/10/L.15, sponsored by Austria and co-sponsored by Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and United Kingdom and Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

At the 42nd meeting, on 29 July, the observer for Maldives, on behalf of Australia, Cape Verde, Comoros, Cuba, Dominica, Fiji, Haiti, India, Israel, Japan, Luxembourg, Maldives, the Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Micronesia (Federated States of), Nauru, New Zealand, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Portugal, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Samoa, Seychelles, Solomon Islands, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uruguay and Vanuatu, introduced a draft resolution entitled “Review of United Nations support for small island developing States” (E/2009/L.35).

The Country accepts that, by its acceptance of this Agreement and performance by the Executive Committee of its funding obligations described in paragraph 3, it is precluded from applying for or receiving further funding from the Multilateral Fund in respect to any consumption of the Substances which exceeds the level defined in row 1.2 of Appendix 2-A (maximum allowable total consumption of Annex C, Group I substances) as the final reduction step under this agreement for all of the Substances specified in Appendix 1-A, and in respect to any consumption of each of the Substances which exceeds the level defined in rows 4.1.3, 4.2.3, 4.3.3, 4.4.3 and 4.5.3 (remaining eligible consumption).

Temperatures in Brisbane, in the south of the state, rarely drop below 20°C and, while it doesn't suffer the stifling humidity you'll find further north, the climate is still most pleasant in winter (June to August).

The Committee was also informed that the provisional calendar of conferences and meetings in the economic, social and related fields for 2012 and 2013 comprised not only meetings of the Economic and Social Council and its functional commissions and expert bodies, but also meetings of subsidiary bodies of the General Assembly in the economic, social and related fields as indicated in footnote b to the provisional calendar (E/2011/L.10, annex).

The General Assembly, by its resolution 62/228, establishes the new system of administration of justice at the United Nations, thereby strengthening the Office by creating a single integrated and geographically decentralized structure for the Secretariat, the funds and programmes (UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF and UNOPS) and UNHCR; a Mediation Service to provide mediation services; and regional branches to serve staff away from Headquarters and in the field.

While the K100: 31/32 break contact interrupts control of the K20 (blocks a new tap-change operation), the K100:21/22 break contact severs the electrical connection between TG260, IO-X1:23/24, and the Q1:C1 trip coil and prohibits motor protection from being released, which would result in a shut-down of the drive by the monitoring system.

In addition to the $650,000 referred to above, the twelfth Meeting of States Parties, held in 2002, approved, on an exceptional basis, the appropriation of $500,000 (being part of the savings from the financial period 2001) to the Working Capital Fund of the Tribunal, in order to provide the Tribunal with the necessary financial means, in the event of temporary shortfalls in funds, to deal with cases whenever the cost could not be met from case-related costs or from the transfer of funds between appropriation sections (SPLOS/L.28).

II have been or are being perpetrated, or are being prepared, on or against the vessels mentioned in article L.1521-1 of the Defence Code, commanders of Government vessels or aircraft responsible for maritime surveillance shall be entitled to conduct or have conducted inspection and coercion measures as provided for under international law, under the first part, book V, title II of the Defence Code, and under this Act.

The session was organized in five segments: (i) the high-level segment, focused this year on current global and national trends and their impact on social development, including health, and which included the Annual Ministerial Review, whose discussion on implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to global public health concluded by a Ministerial Declaration adopted by consensus (document E/2009/L.12); (ii) the coordination segment, focused on the follow-up to the 2008 Ministerial Declaration on implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to sustainable development; (iii) the operational activities segment; (iv) the humanitarian affairs segment whose theme was “Strengthening of the coordination of humanitarian assistance: Present challenges and their impact on the future”; and (v) the general segment.
