Keats, John (1795-1821), English poet. A principal figure of the romantic movement, he wrote all of his most famous poems, including 'La Belle Dame sans Merci', 'Ode to a Nightingale', and 'Ode on a Grecian Urn', in 1818 (published in 1820).
