Karbala
/ˈkɑːbələ/- a city in southern Iraq; pop. 475,000 (est. 2003). A holy city for Shiite Muslims, it is the site of the tomb of Husayn, grandson of Muhammad, who was killed there in AD 680.卡尔巴拉（伊拉克南部城市; 2003年估计人口475,000; 该城为什叶派穆斯林圣地, 公元680年穆罕默德之孙侯赛因在此遇害, 其墓地即设于此）。
