Karakorum
/ˌkærəˈkɔːrəm/- an ancient city in central Mongolia, now ruined, which was the capital of the Mongol empire, established by Genghis Khan in 1220. The capital was moved to Khanbaliq (modern Beijing) in 1267, and Karakorum was destroyed by Chinese forces in 1388.哈拉和林(蒙古中部古城, 现已成废墟, 曾为蒙古帝国首都, 1220年为成吉思汗所建; 1267年首都迁至坎巴立克, 即今北京, 1388年哈拉和林被汉族军队摧毁)。
