Judas Maccabaeus
/ˌmækəˈbiːəs/- (died c. 161 BC) , Jewish leader. Leading a Jewish revolt in Judaea against Antiochus IV Epiphanes from around 167, he recovered Jerusalem and dedicated the Temple anew.
