Shenyang/ˈʃʌnˈjɑːŋ/a city in NE China; pop. 4,101,200 (est. 2006). An important Manchurian city between the 17th and early 20th centuries, it is now the capital of the province of Liaoning. Former name MUKDEN. 沈阳（中国东北城市, 2006年估计人口4,101,200,17世纪至20世纪早期为重要的满洲城市, 现在是辽宁省省会; 原称 MUKDEN）。
