Guide Association
- (in the UK) an organization for girls, corresponding to the Scout Association. Formerly (until 1992) called GIRL GUIDES ASSOCIATION.
It was established in 1910 by Lord Baden-Powell with his wife and sister. The three sections into which it is divided, originally Brownies, Guides, and Rangers, are now called Brownie Guides (7-11 years), Guides (10-16 years), and Ranger Guides (14-19 years). Similar organizations exist in many countries worldwide under the aegis of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, formed in 1928.
