Gibson Desert
- a desert region in Western Australia, to the south-east of the Great Sandy Desert. The first European to cross it (1876) was Ernest Giles, who named it after his companion Alfred Gibson, who went missing on an earlier expedition.吉布森沙漠（澳大利亚西部一沙漠地区, 位于大沙沙漠东南, 第一位穿越它[1876]的欧洲人是欧内斯特·贾尔斯, 他用同伴阿尔弗雷德·吉布森的名字为之命名, 后者在早先的一次探险中失踪）。
