Gershwin
/ˈgɜːʃwɪn/- Gershwin, George (1898-1937), American composer and pianist, of Russian-Jewish descent; born Jacob Gershovitz. He composed many successful songs and musicals, the orchestral work Rhapsody in Blue (1924), and the opera Porgy and Bess (1935).
