Zimbabwe African National Union
(缩略词:ZANU 或 ZANU-PF)
- a Zimbabwean political party formed in 1963 as a guerrilla organization and led from 1975 by Robert Mugabe津巴布韦非洲民族联盟(津巴布韦一政党, 建于1963年, 当时为游击队组织, 自1975年起由罗伯特·穆加贝领导)。
Having formed an alliance (called the Patriotic Front) with ZAPU in 1976 to coordinate opposition to white rule, ZANU won a large majority in the first post-independence elections (1980). ZANU and ZAPU ruled Zimbabwe as a coalition until a rift developed between them in 1982; in 1987, however, the parties agreed formally to merge, adopting the name ZANU-PF on merger in 1989.
