Ellis Island
- an island in the bay of New York that from 1892 until 1943 served as an entry point for immigrants to the US, and later (until 1954) as a detention centre for people awaiting deportation埃利斯岛（纽约海湾岛屿, 1892至1943年期间用作美国移民的一个入境检查站, 后来［1954年前］为驱逐出境人员的拘留中心）。
