Vanuatu
/ˌvɑːnuːˈɑːtuː/- a country consisting of a group of islands in the SW Pacific; pop. 218,500 (est. 2009); official languages: Bislama, English, and French; capital, Vila. The islands were administered jointly by Britain and France as the condominium of the New Hebrides. Vanuatu became an independent republic within the Commonwealth in 1980瓦努阿图(西南太平洋岛国, 2009年估计人口218,500, 官方语言: 比斯拉马语, 英语及法语, 首都维拉; 原称新赫布里底群岛, 由英法两国共同管理; 1980年成为英联邦中的一个独立的共和国)。
