although
/ɔːlˈðəʊ/conjunction
1- in spite of the fact that; even though虽然, 尽管:
although the sun was shining it wasn't that warm
虽然有太阳, 但并不那么温暖
although small, the room has a spacious feel.
虽然这房间小, 但给人以宽敞的感觉。
1.1
- however; but无论如何; 但是:
he says he has the team strip, although I've never seen him wear it.
他说他有球衣, 但是我却从未见他穿过。
USAGE
The form although can be replaced by though, the only difference being that although tends to be more formal than though. Some uses of though are not interchangeable with although however: e.g. adverbial uses (it was nice of him to phone, though) and uses in phrases with 'as' or 'even' (she doesn't look as though she's listening).
