USAGE
The suffix -trix has been used since the 15th century to form feminine agent nouns corresponding to masculine forms ending in -tor. Although a wide variety of forms has been coined, very few of them have ever had wide currency. In modern use the suffix is found chiefly in legal terms such as executrix, administratrix, and testatrix.
