Teilhard de Chardin/teˈjɑːdəˈʃɑːdæŋ,〈法〉 tɛjaʀdə ʃaʀd/ Teilhard de Chardin, Pierre (1881-1955), French Jesuit philosopher and palaeontologist. He is best known for his theory, blending science and Christianity, that man is evolving mentally and socially towards a perfect spiritual state.
