Catherine, St
- (died c.307) , early Christian martyr; known as St Catherine of Alexandria. According to tradition she opposed the persecution of Christians under the emperor Maxentius and refused to recant or to marry the emperor. She is said to have been tortured on a spiked wheel and then beheaded. Feast day, 25 November.圣凯瑟琳（约卒于公元307年, 早期基督教殉教者, 通称“亚历山大的圣凯瑟琳”, 据传曾反对马克森修斯皇帝治下对基督徒的迫害, 并拒绝放弃信仰或与皇帝成婚, 据说在受棘轮酷刑后被斩首; 宗教节日11月25日）。
