Breda
/ˈbreɪdə/- a manufacturing town in the SW Netherlands; pop. 170,960 (2008). It is noted for the Compromise of Breda of 1566, a protest against Spanish rule over the Netherlands; the 1660 manifesto of Charles Ⅱ (who lived there in exile), stating his terms for accepting the throne of Britain; and the Treaty of Breda, which ended the Anglo-Dutch war of 1665-7.布雷达(荷兰西南部一座制造业城市; 2008年人口170,960; 因抗议西班牙统治的《1566年布雷达互让协议》、声明接受英国王位的《1660年查理二世宣言》以及结束了1665-1667年的盎格鲁-荷兰战争的《布雷达条约》而闻名)。
