/ben/- Benn,Tony (b.1925), British Labour politician; full name Anthony Neil Wedgwood Benn. A Labour MP from 1950, he was debarred from the House of Commons on succeeding the title of Viscount Stansgate in 1960. He renounced his title in 1963 and was re-elected.
