Bengal
/beŋˈgɔːl/- a region in the north-east of the Indian subcontinent, containing the Ganges and Brahmaputra River deltas. In 1947 the province was divided into West Bengal, which has remained a state of India, and East Bengal, now Bangladesh.孟加拉（印度次大陆东北部地区, 包括恒河和布拉马普特拉河三角洲; 1947年分为东西两部分, 西孟加拉现仍为印度的一个邦, 东孟加拉现为孟加拉国）。
