Banting
/ˈbæntɪŋ/- Banting, Sir Frederick Grant (1891-1941), Canadian physiologist and surgeon. With the assistance of C. H. Best, Banting discovered insulin in 1921-2, using it to treat the previously incurable and fatal disease diabetes. Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine (1923, shared with J. J. R.
