Salk
/sɔːlk/- Salk, Jonas Edward (1914-95), American microbiologist. He developed the standard Salk vaccine against polio, using virus inactivated by formalin, in the early 1950s, and later became the director of the institute in San Diego that now bears his name.索尔克, 乔纳斯·爱德华(1914-1995, 美国微生物学家, 20世纪50年代初他用甲醛水灭活病毒研制出标准的预防脊髓灰质炎的索尔克氏疫苗; 后任圣地亚哥研究所所长, 该研究所现以他的名字命名)。
