- a form of football played on an oval ground with an oval ball by teams of eighteen players澳大利亚式橄榄球运动(运动场为椭圆形, 每队有18名球员上场)。
The game dates from 1858. Players may run with the ball if they touch it to the ground every fifteen metres, and may pass it in any direction by punching. There are both inner and outer goalposts: a behind (between the outer posts) scores one point and a goal (between the inner posts) scores six.
