Qomolangma

- a mountain in the Himalayas, on the border between Nepal and China. Rising to 8,844 m (29,016 ft), it is the highest mountain in the world; it was first climbed in 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. English name MOUNT EVEREST.
