Sinai
/ˈsaɪnaɪ/- an arid mountainous peninsula in NE Egypt, extending into the Red Sea between the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba. It was occupied by Israel between 1967 and 1982. In the south is Mount Sinai, where, according to the Bible, Moses received the Ten Commandments (Exod. 19-34).西奈半岛(埃及东北部贫瘠多山的半岛, 延伸至苏伊士湾和亚喀巴湾间的红海区域, 1967至1982年间被以色列占领; 南部是西奈山, 根据《圣经》记载, 摩西在那儿接受十诫[《出埃及记》19-34])。
