Molière
/ˈmɒlɪeə,〈法〉mɔljɛʀ/- (1622-73) , French dramatist; pseudonym of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin. He wrote more than twenty comic plays about contemporary France, developing stock characters from Italian commedia dell'arte.
