Meerut
/ˈmɪərət/- a city in northern India, in Uttar Pradesh north-east of Delhi; pop.1,365,100 (est. 2009). It was the scene in May 1857 of the first uprising against the British in the Indian Mutiny.密拉特（印度北部城镇, 地处德里东北的北方邦, 2009年估计人口1,365,100; 1857年5月在此爆发了印度反英暴动的首次起义）。
