铜平鲉，为辐鳍鱼纲鲉形目鲉亚目平鲉科的其中一种，为亚热带海水鱼，分布于东太平洋美国阿拉斯加至墨西哥下加利福尼亚海域，栖息深度10-183公尺，体长可达58公分，栖息在岩石底质、海藻生长的海湾、堤防，成小群活动，卵胎生，幼鱼具漂浮性，生活习性不明，可做为食用鱼及观赏鱼，具有毒性。

It is a relatively common rockfish of the Pacific coast. It is very widespread in its distribution, known from the very northern reaches of the Gulf of Alaska, to the Pacific side of the Baja California peninsula, north of Guerrero Negro.
