Viggiano is a town and comune in the province of Potenza, in the Southern Italian region of Basilicata. It is bounded by the comuni of Calvello, Corleto Perticara, Grumento Nova, Laurenzana, Marsicovetere, Montemurro.

Viggiano is known to be land of migrant street musicians who brought their music in Italy and worldwide through the centuries, as well as renowned for the construction of the harps. It is also home to Europe’s biggest oil field that make Italy the third-largest oil producer of the continent, behind Norway and Great Britain.
