六法全书是现时中华民国、韩国及日本对常用法律工具书普遍采用的名称。因其内容包含常用的六类法律，故谓「六法全书」。当然，书中所收录的法律通常并不止这六法，只是这六法比较常用，和一般人的日常生活比较有广大密切的关系，所以当地所使用的法律全集都被称为「六法全书」。但所谓「六法」，有不同的说法，以下是几种常见的说法：
