自动驾驶汽车，又称为无人驾驶汽车、电脑驾驶汽车或轮式移动机器人，是自动化载具的一种，具有传统汽车的运输能力。作为自动化载具，自动驾驶汽车不需要人为操作即能传感其环境及导航。自动驾驶汽车仍未全面商用化，大多数均为原型机及展示系统。

自动驾驶汽车能以雷达、光学雷达、GPS 及电脑视觉等技术传感其环境。先进的控制系统能将传感数据转换成适当的导航道路，以及障碍与相关标志。根据定义，自动驾驶汽车能透过传感输入的数据，更新其地图信息，让交通工具可以持续追踪其位置，即使条件改变，或汽车驶进了未知的环境内。

自动驾驶汽车的展示系统可追溯至1920年代及1930年代间，第一辆能真正自动驾驶的汽车则出现于1980年代。1984年，卡内基美隆大学推动Navlab计划与ALV计划；1987年，梅赛德斯-奔驰与德国慕尼黑联邦国防大学共同推行尤里卡普罗米修斯计划。从此以后，许多大型公司与研究机构开始制造可运作的自动驾驶汽车原型。
