Acts of Parliament in the United Kingdom

An Act of Parliament in the United Kingdom is primary legislation. These Acts are passed by the Parliament of the United Kingdom in London, by the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh or by the National Assembly of Wales in Cardiff.

A draft piece of legislation is called a bill, when this is passed by Parliament it becomes an Act and part of statute law.
