Pontypridd /pɒntəˈpriːð/ is both a community and the county town of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, and is situated 12 miles/19 km north of the Welsh capital city of Cardiff. Pontypridd is often abbreviated to "Ponty" by local residents.
