铅笔（德语：bleistift，法语：crayon，英语：pencil，西班牙语：lápiz），是一种用于在纸上书写、绘画的手持式笔、工具，它是用石墨为笔芯（除了彩色铅笔以外）以及木杆为外包层而制作的，铅笔的尾端也可以带有一个橡皮擦，铅笔与其他笔（除了可擦笔以外）的不同之处在于它的笔迹很容易被擦掉。黑色的铅笔叫木黑，颜色铅笔叫木颜色。

现代铅笔以石墨和黏土来制造，石墨添加得越多，笔芯越软，颜色越黑；而黏土添加得越多，笔芯则越硬，颜色越浅。铅笔现在仍叫做铅笔，是因为最早的极不成形或似铅笔的笔为铅金属所制造，而后则又因古时候欧洲中世纪在化学发展仅刚启蒙时，人们将石墨误以为是铅的一种，因此铅笔一词在诸多语言及东亚语言中流传下来、广泛使用而未修正。
