今治市是位于爱媛县东北部高绳半岛的城市，临濑户内海，其人口在爱媛县内仅次于松山市位居第二，在全四国地区中为第五大城，仅次于四个县的县政府所在地。
以渔业以及渔船制造业为主，现也逐步扩及到电机、机械制造领域，其他方面则是运输业和零售业为主的服务业，太阳石油和住友金属算是少数的重工业，传统特产的伯方盐业和樱井漆器则依附于观光业而小规模生存。

Imabari(今治市Imabari-shi) is a city in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. It is the second largest city in Ehime Prefecture.
Following a recent merger, as of January 1, 2010, the city has an estimated population of 172,384 and population density of 410.87 persons per km². The total (merged) area is 419.56 km².
