灰笛鲷，为辐鳍鱼纲鲈形目鲈亚目笛鲷科的其中一种，分布于西大西洋区，从美国麻州至巴西里约热内卢半咸水、海域，栖息深度5-180公尺，体长可达89公分，栖息在沿海珊瑚礁、岩石底质、河口、红树林水域，属肉食性，以鱼类、甲壳类、头足类、腹足类等为食，可做为食用鱼、游钓鱼及观赏鱼。
