Barnabas

Saul needed someone to come alongside him to encourage and teach him, and to introduce him to other believers. Barnabas was that bridge.

Paul had brought with him not only Barnabas, but Titus also (v. 3), a Christian Greek, who had never been circumcised.

And the rest of the Jews also joined him in this hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was carried away in their hypocrisy.

And the rest of the Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that even Barnabas was carried away with their dissimulation.

Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.

And Paul and Barnabas continued at Antioch, teaching and preaching, with many others, the word of the Lord.

Even more significant is the fact that the Land Surveyor breaks with Frieda in order to go toward the Barnabas sisters.

And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

While Paul and Barnabas may be called the first cross-cultural missionaries, they did not act alone.

And to his dissimulation the rest of the Jews consented, so that Barnabas also was led by them into that dissimulation.

It seemed good to us, having become of one accord, to choose men to send to you together with our beloved Barnabas and Paul.

It is not surprising that the "Barnabas story" is placed at the end of the book.

Without Barnabas (Son of Encouragement), a Levite from Cyprus, a prophet and apostle, we might not have had Paul's ministry.

Moreover, from Paul's later letters we read that later there was reconciliation between him and Barnabas.

And as Paul and Barnabas were going out, the people begged that these words would be spoken to them on the next Sabbath.

So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people.

Later, after being trained by Barnabas, Mark was of great assistance to Paul.

Which also they did, sending it to the ancients, by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles.

Again it was Barnabas who took Mark, also know as John Mark, under his wing when Paul rejected him.

and they heard Barnabas and Paul telling what great signs and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

When Barnabas and Saul had finished their mission , they returned from Jerusalem, taking with them John, also called Mark .

For the Barnabas family is the only one in the village that is utterly forsaken by the Castle and by the village itself.

And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministration, taking with them John whose surname was Mark.

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

New and old churches have an urgent need for Barnabas-like people who take the initiative to welcome and befriend newcomers!

And the rest of the Jews went after him, so that even Barnabas was overcome by their false ways.

For his 1 st missionary journey, he had Barnabas, and Mark, who later left them.

In our reading today we discover that Barnabas developed a mentoring relationship with Paul.

And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, having completed the dispensing; and they took along with them John, who was surnamed Mark.

Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?

Some people said maybe it's by Barnabas.

Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus with me also.

Or is it only I and Barnabas who must work for a living?

It tells the story of Barnabas, a tortured vampire who is searching for his long lost love.

But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting:

And Barnabas intended to take John, who is called Mark, along with them also;
