A TXSeries region is a named collection of resources controlled by CICS as a unit.

The CICS resource adapter supplied in Integration Edition requires Version 4 or higher of the CTG.

The screen also reflects your change to CICS-renderingset to disable foreground colors, and shows the new Submit button.

What happens if the CICS region or transaction fails unexpectedly?

You have now created the connection factory for the CICS resource adapter and specified values for certain connection properties.

Use the ENCRYPTION system initialization parameter to specify the level of encryption that CICS should use.

If the CICS region has an access level of NONE, then two userids are checked: the CICS job userid and the CICS transaction userid.

Select ibm. connector2. cics. ECIManagedConnectionFactory, and click Select Once.

A PIPELINE is a CICS resource that is used when a CICS application is in the role of a Web service provider or requester.

This means that using the LocalTransaction interface of the CICS ECI connection factory, as detailed in Question 1, is not supported.

Create and define a VSAM file to CICS, and verify that CICS can access the file (optional).

You can check syntax and compile CICS applications with the command line using the COBOL compiler.

How do I link to a CICS program that issues SYNCPOINT commands?

The link server drives the appropriate functions on the CICS OTS (OT) domain to complete the unit of work.

The component is indicated by the Java package name; for CICS, it is com. ibm. connector2. cics.

In this section, we will describe these attributes and illustrate how they can be used in conjunction with the CICS ECI resource adapter.

A CICS resource is any facility or component of a CICS system that is required to perform a task.

A build component would be what language is the source module, does it include components such as DB2, CICS, IMS, MQseries, etc.

This section illustrates how to create a simple business process to invoke the CICS service wrapper created in Step 3.

If updates are required to multiple resource managers, such as two different CICS systems, then a global transaction context is required.

When you set USERAUTH to IDENTIFY in CICSB, the CICS TS system expects all incoming attach requests to specify a user identifier.

For example, selecting the CICS ECI link would guide you to the tools to create a service accessing CICS ECI programs.

In the "File selection" dialog, browse to the CICSStrutsDemo project and expand the cics and custdetail folders, then select WBCSTDT2. cpp.

You can reuse CICS-renderingset from the previous example the CICS screens.

This program accepts an operation code and a record key as inputs, then reads the VSAM dataset and returns the record back to CICS.

For example, Message Broker might take data from SAP, and using MQ, send it to an enterprise application running on CICS.

Copy all C programs and make file from CICS WebSphere MQ sample directory to region bin directory.

This step is required step because we will implement our CICS connection using the J2C adapter.

What we need to do next is describe this CICS-based Web service so it can be published and discovered.

For example, IBM CICS now provides direct SOAP support, and many systems and application packages can support MQ or SOAP interfaces.

The next step is to write a sample COBOL CICS program to read a record from VSAM dataset based on a record key.

For example, in the figure below shows a host screen from a 3270 CICS application running on an IBM System z platform.

In our example, we will use the CICS ECI resource adapter.

You must also configure other details for the transformation, such as CICS, MVS, and USS.

The two scenarios share the same CICS region, which is running CICS TS 4. 1.

For deployment to SOAP for CICS as a message adapter, this is what we want to do.

Start the CICS region and make sure no errors are seen in the console log.

Through this way, we can fully reuse CICS applications, achieve SOA.

In some cases, vendors provide the service adaptor, which makes the job easier (for example, Web services for CICS).
